“Langley Thunder trade for Athan Iannucci”
Langley Thunder of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) announces the trade to acquire Athan Iannucci from the New Westminster Salmonbellies for the playing rights of drafted hold out Alex Gajic.
Athan Iannucci is the most prolific goal-scorer in lacrosse today. Returning from recent surgery Athan’s
availability to the Thunder this season is not finalized.
Athan drafted by the New West in 2004 he played there until 2007, collecting 1st All-Star twice, league leading scorer in 2007. Athan played 2008 & 2009 with St Regis of the OLA Senior A League. He has returned to the West Coast (his home). Athan’s NLL career has been impressive, setting scoring record in 2008 and winning the league’s MVP award. During 2008 summer an injury prevented him from playing full time over the next two seasons.
