Langley Thunder drops first game in overtime vs Maple Ridge Burrards Sunday May 17th – 10 to 11.
May 17, 2009

Maple Ridge jumped to a 6-2 first period lead.  The Thunder climbed partly back to end the period 6-4.  The chippy 1st period saw each team getting 3 penalties.

After allowing the 1st goal of the 2nd period the Thunder (led by 1st round draft choice Alex Turner’s two short handed goals) scrapped back to a tie the game at 8s.

Keeping the Burrards off the scoresheet for 23 minutes ended with a pair of Burrard goals.  This set up 2 last minute goals by the Thunder by free agent Bryan Poole.

Against the flow of play the Burrards scored the only goal of non-sudden death overtime.
